Make it back-to-back for the Watertown Cyclones girls’ lacrosse team.

Watertown downed Jamesville Dewitt, 14-11, last night at the Carrier Dome to win the Section 3 Class ‘B’ championship. That’s two Class ‘B’ titles in a row for Watertown, which has captured four such crowns in the last six years. Oliva Miles scored five times, Lauren Girardi stopped five shots in the win, as Watertown moves on to face West Gennesee in state playoff action.
Over in softball Tuesday, it was nothing but heartbreak for two North Country teams.
In Class ‘B,’ South Jeff saw its season come to a close against APW. The Spartans being shutout, 6-0, by the Rebels. And Sandy Creek just couldn’t muster a a run against Cooperstown in the Class 'C' championship--the Comets going down in defeat, 1-0.
LaFargeville hits the diamond in softball tonight and we’ll preview it later on. But congrats to all the teams on great runs, and to Section 3 champ Watertown
